Barns, landscapes & Butterscotch the cat in bright colors & whimsy by artist Jennifer Schutzendorf in Cazenovia NY.
Artist’s Statement: Color, simple composition and approachable images make the expression through art both fun and safe for me. Having started a new life in the arts just eight years ago, I have come to cherish and embrace the process and the newness of it all as if I were a little kid. Not only am I energized by bright and bold colors and the playfulness of storytelling, but also by the reaction of others to my work. I love this important sense of connection. At the same time, by choosing this path I am able to create a place for myself in which I can express on a deeper and more meaningful level. Each piece has a story behind it that connects me to my work and allows me truly to be apart of the entire creative process. I am inspired by the work of local artists Wayne Daniels and Nicora Gangi and drawn to contemporary artists such as Jeff Koons, Wayne Thiebaud, and William Wegman.
